Industrial Lighting: Circus Themed Gala Event

1/6

Behind the Design

This project was to come up with a concept for a themed event in the Gotham Ballroom in New York City and design and program a custom lighting rig for the event.

At this event, guests dine in an immersive circus themed dinner show with live performers and circus acts dazzling then as they dine.

I wanted the lighting for this event to be dramatic and colorful, highlighting the dazzling costumes of the performers and making acts visible from every seat in the room. I was inspired by shows like Cirque du Soleil and the Moulin Rouge that bring a lot of fun and spectacle to the audience.

Concert Lighting: Small Venue Artist Highlight

1/7

Behind the Design

This project was to design and program a custom lighting rig for a concert. I chose to do a small venue concert for Em Biehold, these are stills of a design for her song, "Egg in the Backseat."

My goal for this design was to really highlight the singer and also gradually build up the intensity as the song goes until it's on full blast during the final chorus. This rig uses a lot of movers to make the space more dynamic as well as four trusses of pars in the back that can flash and bump along with the beat, really getting the audience into the music.
